Auckland Northland Regional Relationship Manager 
Gymnastics New Zealand is looking for a Relationship Manager for the Auckland/Northland Region. The role would ideally suit individuals with knowledge and experience in sport development and/or sport management and who are already established in the sport sector. Knowledge of gymnastics is a benefit but not is not a pre-requisite.

The core purpose of the Relationship Manager role is:

  • To provide sport development and capability support for the gymnastic sport clubs in the Auckland/Northland Region.
  • To identify opportunities and implement effective strategies to increase participation in gymnastic sports and establish and maintain diverse and sustainable relationships.

Some important attributes to fulfil this role include:

  • The ability to effectively manage relationships with a customer-centric mindset.
  • A strong communicator.
  • Have strong research and writing capability.
  • Good project management skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • A positive demeanour and a solution-based attitude to challenging situations.

This role provides exciting opportunities to develop and lead on projects both within the region and at a national level and will suit someone who is self-motivated, pro-active and passionate about sport. A strong focus for the role during this period will be on supporting clubs to develop capability in both safeguarding & child protection and governance so experience in these areas would be a benefit. Periodic travel is required, however much of the engagement with clubs and partners is done remotely.

Basketball New Zealand Events Coordinator
(Full time position based in Wellington)

The role will primarily provide effective and efficient administration and operational support related to the delivery of Basketball New Zealand Events programme. This role sits within the Events Team. The Events Team delivers tournaments, leagues, 3X3 programmes and international and domestic events. This includes but is not limited to the BBNZ Annual Awards, FIBA sanctioned, and non-FIBA sanctioned international events.

The role will Include

  • Assisting with the creation of the Events Team calendar
  • Delivering event logistics
  • Production and distribution of event entry criteria
  • Preparation and distribution of fair and equitable draws
  • Arranging travel, accommodation and liaising with suppliers for Event resources, all within the confines of an approved budget
  • Attending agreed events and deliver on the ground support and management
  • Using the approved online databases and competition management systems for all events
  • Familiarising yourself with the Basketball New Zealand regulations
  • Keeping the events section of the website updated
  • Survey creation, distribution, and collation post events

BBNZ is a small team and at times projects need ‘all hands to the pump’, which means you will be self-motivated and eagerly pitch in to help. This role reports to the Tournaments Manager/Events Manager and works closely with the rest of the team at Basketball New Zealand. Ideally, you will have an event coordination background or previous experience in this area.
